History

The success of Jovalco is directly linked to its tireless founder, Gaëtan Turgeon. Gaëtan started his carreer at 17, working on the James Bay construction sites and, by age 24, he already owned a concrete plant in Quebec.

During that period, Gaëtanbeavem the first concrete maker to sell prefabricated concrete foundations as well as advertising on his liquid concrete trucks, a tatctic previously unknown to the industry.  Thanks to its innovation and business acumen, Gaëtan was able to sell more than 15 000 yards of concrete in 6 years.

Gaëtan path then brought him to the snow plowing industry where once again, he quickly reached the top.  By creating an innovative, larger snow plow, Gaëtan was able to significantly reduce costs related to snow plowing.  At its peak, Gaëtan's business had more than 100 employees.

In 1987, Gaëtan started a residential construction company.  The first 32 condominium project he built was sold out two weeks before construction started and Gaëtan and his team decided to build more residential units, working around the clock to complete several projects at once.

Over the last 25 years, Jovalco was involved in several large scale projects including the Caisse de Dépôt et de Placement, the Ville-Marie Expressway and many others.  Today, Jovalco looks ahead to a promising future while relying on its core values of reliability, professionalism and innovation.
